LifeGroup FAQs

Why do we have LifeGroups?
LifeGroups at Harvest provide a safe and welcoming place to live life together with other believers. Meeting in homes or other non-church settings, groups create space for authentic relationships and real-life discipleship. They also give participants the opportunity to use their spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ.

Our LifeGroup objectives are to encourage:
  1. Living a Christ-centered life for God and His glory.
  2. Building community that encourages spiritual growth.
  3. Creating opportunities for outreach and missions.
When do LifeGroups meet?
LifeGroups meet at least twice a month. Each group chooses the time that best fits their members’ schedules, whether afternoons, evenings, or weekends.
Who should be in a LifeGroup?
The short answer: everyone! Every Christian needs a place to build meaningful relationships, grow in their faith, and use their spiritual gifts. LifeGroups help you connect within the larger church body as you worship, study God’s Word, share life and pray together.
What types of LifeGroups are available?
Harvest offers LifeGroups for every stage of life: young adults, singles, young married couples, families with children, empty nesters, blended families and more.
What are qualifications for leaders?
Are you interested in leading a LifeGroup? Here’s what we look for in a leader:
  • A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Membership at Harvest
  • A commitment to the Bible as God’s inspired and authoritative Word
  • Time, commitment, and discernment to lead a healthy group
What are hosting tips for leaders?
Hosting Tips:

Do’s:
  • Tidy the meeting space (dishes, clutter, shoes, etc.) and vacuum/sweep if needed.
  • Pray for the meeting and each member by name.
  • Set up chairs in a circle and bring in extras if needed.
  • Consider moving furniture so everyone sits closer together.
  • Remove distractions (such as pets or phones).
  • Assign group roles (note taker, scheduler, cleanup helper).
  • Provide light snacks and ask others to share the load.
  • Ensure the guest bathroom is ready (extra toilet paper visible, no personal meds).
  • Welcome guests warmly; show them around and help them feel at home.
  • Give clear directions to your home and a phone number for lost guests.
Don’ts:
  • Think you need a big or fancy home; small and simple works great.
  • Feel pressured to serve a meal every week; snacks are enough.
  • Be afraid to politely let people know when it’s time to wrap up.
