At Harvest, we believe every position from the pastors to the maintenance staff has a specific calling to advance God's Kingdom through the local church. Our administrative positions are no different. Our office staff plays a large roll in how we function as a church and spiritual organization.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Cafe Manager is responsible for managing the operations of the church cafe that is primarily open during church services and various special events. Duties include recruitment and training of volunteers, ordering supplies, monitoring finances and ensuring the cafe is well maintained. This is a part-time position that reports to the Executive Pastor.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage volunteers, to include recruiting, training, scheduling, encouraging
- Train up and encourage team leads
- Maintain a safe, healthy environment for volunteers and guests
- Oversee standards of operation including cleanliness and customer service
- Determine the menu and creatively offer new items from time to time
- Manage financials including item prices, point-of-sale receipts, deposits, budgeting, security and profitability
- Direct marketing, promotions, events, swag, web page, communications
- Manage hours of operation for weekly church services and special events
- Oversee ministry goals, assessing and partnering with other ministries when opportunities arise
- Manage stock including purchasing, storing, organizing and security
- Maintain equipment including procurement, sanitization, maintenance, repair, build-out
- Perform all customary and regular duties associated with the cafe and any other tasks the ministry requires
- Plan for future expansion and process improvements
EXPECTATIONS
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Harvest New Beginnings (Colossians 3:23-24)
- Member or willingness to become a member of Harvest New Beginnings Church
- Work scheduled hours on a weekly basis; additional hours must be approved by Office Administrator or Executive Pastor
- Adhere to church approved guidelines as set forth in Harvest Bylaws and Employee Procedures Manual
- Make regular time for solitude, prayer, study, attending church services and the practice of an abiding faith in Jesus Christ in order to fulfill the ministry role of serving God’s people! (1 Peter 4:10)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent interpersonal skills; prompt in responding to inquiries
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills; Proficient in email communication and computer technology; Comfortable learning and utilizing church software programs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to adapt to change- flexible in working with staff and volunteers
- A high level of initiative and the ability to work independently and perform duties with minimal direction and supervision
